This page is still under construction, so it will be receiving a lot of updates in the coming weeks. Access to the Gateway Clipper Fleet and the city of Pittsburgh is somewhat manageable on your own. But, if you have a GPS unit, bring it! The roads in Pittsburghs can be very confusing. And with all of the rolling hills and constant bends in the road it can be challenging to maintain an accurate sense of direction. Plan on getting lost at least a couple of times.
Hotel accomodations here are the same as anywhere. Here is a list and map of some hotels you may want to stay at:
The balloon right on the river represents the Sheraton-Station Square and is located adjacent to the Gateway Clipper Fleet.
If you elect to stay further away from the city, you may avoid some of the city traffic during most of you stay. This may prove to be a prudent decision if you are planning on driving to any of the group activities recommended in the Activities tab.
Personally, I'd recommend find a hotel on priceline the week before you come out. But, if you want to be a little bit more on the safe side then you may want to look into getting a hotel sooner than later. If you do get a hotel in the city, and plan on having a vehicle with you, remember to ensure that it has parking. Parking in the city is often limited, especially during the week, and therefore is often provided in lots around the city at a hefty premium.
